Resumen: The Earth's magnetic field (BT) has two components: the horizontal one (BTH), which points approximately to the meridian, and the vertical one (BTV), which point towards the Earth’s inner core.
A laboratory experience is proposed in which the horizontal Earth’s magnetic field component BTH is measured using five circular coplanar and vertical loops of known radius, and a magnetized needle which rotates freely in the center of the loops.
