Resumen: [EN] This paper presents a preliminary analysis of answers to a survey taken by 118 first-year student engineers to find out how they engaged with the learning opportunities offered in an electrical systems unit. Answers were correlated against student demographics. Correlations confirm what other studies have found: some resources are more useful than others for different cohorts, while none of the resources are considered useful by all. This leads to the conclusion that in the face of increasing diversity, almost everything we try to support student learning will be effective for some students, while nothing will be 100% effective for all. There are no ‘silver bullets’.
