[ES] La temática de este trabajo se mueve en el terreno de la teoría y crítica arquitectónicas. Su objetivo es el de indagar acerca de las desavenencias en la manera de entender la arquitectura a lo largo de la historia, incluyendo los temas que han sido objeto de discusión, las formas empleadas y las implicaciones en el devenir del pensamiento arquitectónico. El interés en el tema es doble. Por una parte, en cuanto a la discrepancia en sí, puesto que acarrea la duda, la falta de consenso y la pugna hacia una posible resolución. Por otra parte, en cuanto a las implicaciones, pues los debates suelen dar lugar a cambios de orientación y superación de determinados dogmas o principios heredados. Para abordar esta materia, se ha realizado una selección de cinco polémicas que corresponden a otras tantas cuestiones, momentos históricos, figuras protagonistas y conclusiones particulares.

[EN] The subject matter of this work moves in the field of architectural theory and criticism. Its objective is to inquire about the disagreements in the way of understanding architecture throught history, including the topics that have been the subject of discussion, the forms used and the implications in the evolution of architectural thought. The interest in the subject is double. On the one hand, in terms of discrepancy itself, since it brings doubt, lack of consensus and the struggle towards a possible resolution. On the other hand, in therms of the implications, since the debates often lead to chances in orientation and the overcoming of certain dogmas or inherited principles. To adress this subject, a selection of five polemics has been made, corresponding to as many issues, historical moments, protagonists and particular conclusions.
